The "World Champion Club" Maroochydore Surf Life Saving Club, is located on the Sunshine Coast, 100km north of Brisbane.
The Club was formed on the 1st January 1916 and has patrolled Maroochydore beach ever since. It is the oldest and most successful Club on the Sunshine Coast and boasts amongst its membership many high profile competitors including Clint Robinson, Olympic Gold Medallist and winner of the most gold medals in the history of Australian Surf Life Saving Championships. The Club was crowned "World Champion Club" at the last two World Life Saving Championships held at Manly, Sydney (2000) and Daytona, Florida, U.S.A. in 2002.
The Club has just unveiled its brand new multi million dollar Clubhouse that incorporates gear and equipment storage, Nipper facilities, male and female accommodation areas, First Aid, Radio/Observation tower, Seminar and Training rooms, Administration area and fully Licensed Supporters Club area. A World Class facility for a World Champion Club!!
The Maroochydore Club has a very strong membership base from Nippers (7 to 14 years), Active and Masters (over 30 years) members - our oldest Active member is now 87 years old!
