Trademarks


Many of the devices, images and names associated with Surf Life Saving have been registered as trademarks to restrict their use. These marks represent the most valuable asset of the organisation and unauthorised use may lead to legal action.

The trademarks are owned by Surf Life Saving Queensland or Surf Life Saving Australia and requests for their use must be through these offices.

Examples of trademarks include:

- Club, branch and SLSQ logo’s,
- The “Life of the Beach” or “Whatever it Takes” slogans
- Images depicting surf lifesaving staff and equipment
- Images with the red and yellow flags
- Images featuring the SLSA noddy caps
- Images featuring the official SLSA/SLSQ red and yellow patrol uniforms.
