Since South Coast Branch's formation in the summer of 1945-46 the maintenance of the Gold Coasts beaches as a safe and enjoyable destination has been the primary objective of the South Coast Branch and its affiliated Clubs.
The Surf Life Saving Clubs within the South Coast Branch are well recognised by local Councils, community groups and the public. The Branch's boundaries stretch from Burleigh Heads in the South through to Point Lookout (North Stradbroke Island) in the North and include the following 12 clubs - Point Lookout, Coochiemudlo, Southport, Surfers Paradise, Northcliffe, Broadbeach, Kurrawa, Mermaid Beach, Nobbys Beach, Miami Beach, North Burleigh, Burleigh Heads/Mowbray Park.
