The Wide Bay Capricorn branch is one of the six branches in the State of Queensland. There is eight Surf Life Saving Clubs that are affiliated with the Wide Bay Capricorn Branch. These clubs are Yeppoon, Emu Park, Tannum Sands, Agnes Water, Moore Park, Bundaberg, Elliott Heads and Hervey Bay.

The purpose of the Wide Bay Capricorn Branch is to represent the clubs at regional and state level to promote and support the provision of a safe aquatic environment. The Branch supports clubs with necessary administration, and sets and maintains standards of Surf Life Saving at the highest level.

The Branch aims to develop Surf Life Saving into an organised institution, and with these objects in view, foster, regulate, organise and manage examinations, competitions and displays and issue badges, medallions and certificates, and award trophies to successful competitors.
