Surf Life Saving Queensland (SLSQ) would like to sincerely thank the community for digging deep throughout the appeal, with individual donations ranging from $2 to $10,000.

The final total for the sixth annual Surf Safe Appeal was almost $100,000 more than last year’s figure and will be especially vital heading into summer with record crowds expected on Queensland beaches.

Surf Life Saving Foundation (SLSF) executive director Steve Francia said it was humbling to see that support for the surf lifesaving movement continues to grow.

“Each year we are blown away by the overwhelming support of the community in helping to keep our lifesaving services on the beach,” he said.

“Thank you to everyone who made a donation, no matter how big or small, every dollar makes a difference."
