Celebrate 100 years of Surf Life Saving in Queensland

Witness a re-creation of the first ever recorded rescue on a Queensland Beach. This activity will be followed by a spectacular display of the evolution of Queensland lifesaving over the last 100 years showcasing our operational ‘fire-power' such as jet boats, IRB's, wave runners and helicopter. Tweed Heads & Coolangatta Surf Club will also host a range of family friendly activities at the beach on the day.

Surf Life Saving is pleased to announce the completion of a new television commercial which is going to air immediately with the tag line "whatever it takes". The overall objective is to move the lifesaving movement into its next century - benefiting from the awareness and goodwill of 2007 Year of the Surf Lifesaver and moving the brand forward to expand understanding of the role of the Surf Lifesaving movement.
